MY COMPANY IS HERE TO SAVE LIVES
THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

David Wyatt, M.D., FAAFP, was born and raised in the Midwest and presently lives and works in California. His life journey has taken him by way of Cincinnati, where he worked with ghetto children and later to Arctic Alaska where he tended to the health needs of native Eskimos.

After years in the practice of medicine, and after having seen hundreds of thousands of patients, Dr. Wyatt has always remained mindful of the miracles afforded to all of us by modern medicine. He has, however, also been acutely aware of the dangers. Having observed many cases where medication errors were responsible for serious reactions and even death, he has dedicated himself to finding a solution.

When Dr. Wyatt started practice, computer technology was in its infancy. Today, he wondered, since this technology is giving us the answers to so many of today's problems, what about dealing with the complex issue of medication errors?

This is when the idea of LIFE LOCKET came into being. Dr. Wyatt and some of his colleagues envisioned a simple, high tech device that could easily be carried or worn on your person. He felt he could invent a device that would give medical personnel all the information they needed to safely and successfully treat their patients. Equally important, it should be something that would allow doctors, nurses and emergency medical staff to avoid costly and deadly medical errors.

The LIFE LOCKET concept was born. Within days, ideas begin to flow. He asked himself, "In addition to avoiding medication errors, what about patients with Alzheimer's disease and what about autistic children?". Both of these patient groups tend to wander and sometimes get lost. How wonderful to have information on their person that would help them get safely home again.

Dr. Wyatt received his M.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He did his postgraduate work in Ohio. His military duty was served in Alaska, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He has had medical licensure over the years in Oklahoma, Ohio, Alaska, Washington, Louisiana and finally California.

Throughout his career he has been involved in teaching. He has given lectures and seminars on a variety of subjects including health maintenance, diet and weight loss, the origins and present problems with HIV/AIDS, stress management and many other topics. Dr. Wyatt was recently made an assistant clinical professor at UCLA. He has penned two layman's medical books plus several other publications
